Show iCloud calendars in GCal

Choose whether you want iCloud events in the native agenda or inside Google Calendar.

The native Mac-calendar route requires Premium or existing Classic access. Feature availability

In the menu bar, Dock, and widgets

Use calendars already connected to your Mac. This route does not require publishing a public calendar link.

  1. Open Apple’s Calendar app and check that your iCloud calendar appears there. If it does not, connect the account in macOS System Settings and enable its calendars. GCal’s Settings → Accounts → Manage Accounts opens the system account settings.
  2. In GCal, open Settings → Accounts. Turn on Calendars on This Mac and allow macOS calendar access.
  3. Open Settings → Calendar and select your iCloud calendar under Calendars on This Mac.

Your selected events should appear in GCal’s native agenda. They are not added to the Google Calendar account shown in the main window.

Inside the Google Calendar window

Google Calendar can display a published iCloud calendar as a subscription. Anyone with a public calendar link may be able to read the published details. Only use this route for a calendar you intend to publish. For private agenda access, use the Mac-calendar route above.

  1. In Apple’s Calendar app, open the sharing controls beside the iCloud calendar you own. Enable Public Calendar and copy its calendar link.
  2. In Google Calendar on your computer, use the plus beside Other calendars → From URL. Paste the published link and add the calendar.

This is a read-only subscription, not two-way editing. Make changes at the original provider; Google controls when subscription updates arrive, so they may be delayed.

Provider instructions: Apple’s sharing guide and Google’s From URL guide.

If the calendar does not appear

  • First check whether it appears in Apple’s Calendar app or in Google Calendar, depending on the route you chose.
  • Check GCal’s calendar selection and macOS calendar permission for the native-agenda route.
  • If publishing is unavailable, your account provider or organization may not allow it. Ask your administrator rather than changing sharing settings on a work calendar.
  • A calendar visible on your iPhone is not necessarily connected to the same account on your Mac.
