GCal guide

Troubleshoot Google Calendar website sign-in

Resolve sign-in pages, authentication windows, and organization-managed login flows in the main calendar window.

Sign in to the calendar website

Open GCal’s main window and complete Google’s sign-in flow there. The website session is separate from Google accounts connected in GCal Settings. A successful native-account connection does not sign the website in, and a website login does not connect the native agenda.

Authentication windows and external pages

GCal keeps supported Google authentication steps in the sign-in flow and may open ordinary account-management or unsupported external destinations in the appropriate external app. Complete the requested provider steps, then return to GCal.

Organization-managed sign-in

Workspace domains can redirect through SAML, MFA, passkeys, security keys, or a company identity provider. GCal uses WebKit’s system authentication support, but the exact policy is controlled by Google and your organization. Client certificates and corporate network requirements may also require administrator configuration.

If sign-in remains stuck

  • Check whether the same account can sign in to Google Calendar in Safari on the same Mac.
  • Close obsolete authentication windows and retry from the main GCal window.
  • Check the Mac’s date, time, network, proxy, and certificate configuration.
  • For an organization restriction or compliance failure, contact the Workspace or identity administrator.
  • Reset website data only as a last resort because it signs the embedded website out.
