GCal guide

Use notification actions and snooze

Open events, join meetings, email organizers, or snooze supported reminders.

Requires Premium or existing Classic access. Feature availability

Open an event or task

Click an individual GCal notification to open its event or task. This default click remains available without occupying one of macOS’s custom action positions. Grouped all-day summaries open the GCal window rather than one individual item.

Use meeting and organizer actions

A timed event can offer Join Meeting when it contains a recognized meeting link and the reminder arrives from one hour before the event until it ends. Email Organizer can appear when the event includes an organizer email address. Compact banners may show fewer actions than the expanded notification.

Snooze a reminder

Timed events and scheduled tasks can offer snooze choices for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Timed events can also offer valid choices relative to the event: 15, 10, or 5 minutes before it starts, or at its start. Choices that would already be in the past are omitted.

When actions are intentionally limited

All-day events, all-day tasks, and grouped summaries use only their default click behavior. They do not offer meeting, email, or minute-based snooze actions. macOS controls whether a compact banner shows the full Options menu; expand the notification to see additional available actions.
