Requires Premium. [Feature availability](https://soriian.com/help/premium-features/).

## Build your first shortcut

1. Open Apple’s **Shortcuts** app on your Mac and create a new shortcut.
2. Search the actions for **GCal**. Add **Open Today in GCal**.
3. Name the shortcut and run it. GCal opens the calendar at today’s date; sign in to Google Calendar first if needed.

## Try another workflow

- **Show GCal:** bring the main calendar window to the front.
- **Open New Event in GCal:** open the new-event editor, ready for you to enter the details and save.
- **Open New Task in GCal:** open the new-task editor, ready for you to enter the details and save.
- **Open Today in GCal:** jump to today in your calendar.
- **Open Date in GCal:** jump to a date you choose.
- **Change GCal Calendar View:** switch to your preferred calendar view.
- **Open Search in GCal:** open Google Calendar’s search so you can find an event.
- **Apply GCal Calendar Set:** apply a saved selection of calendars. GCal shows the sets for the account in the main Google Calendar window.
- **Get GCal Schedule:** retrieve events, tasks, or both for today, tomorrow, this week, the next 7 days, or the next 30 days. Pass the results into another action to build your own daily briefing.
- **Get Next GCal Event:** retrieve the next event starting within the next 7 days, so you can use its details in your workflow.
- **Get Next GCal Video Meeting:** retrieve the next event with a meeting link starting within the next 7 days.
- **Join Next GCal Video Meeting:** open the meeting link for a call that started within the last 10 minutes and is still running, or the next upcoming call within 7 days.
- **Get GCal Overdue Tasks:** retrieve unfinished tasks whose due date has passed. Choose the maximum number of results to include.

## If an action cannot run

Data actions need a connected account and a fresh, complete agenda. They can fail while offline even if cached events remain visible elsewhere. Calendar Set actions also need the matching Google account open in GCal.

An action may be visible in Shortcuts before you have access to run it. Keyboard shortcuts configured inside GCal are separate from these Apple Shortcuts actions.
