## Website and native calendar data

The main window displays Google Calendar in WebKit and keeps that website session separate from native accounts. Native Google connections use explicit read-only Calendar and Tasks permissions. Calendars on This Mac use macOS calendar permission.

## The local AI connection

GCal’s MCP helper runs locally on your Mac and communicates with a configured assistant through standard input and output. It does not listen on a network port and does not receive a network entitlement for help. The bundled help catalog is read from the signed app.

## What an assistant can receive

After you enable AI Tools and connect an assistant, it can request selected event and task details through GCal’s published tools. Information returned to that assistant may be processed by its provider according to the assistant’s settings and policies. Help-search results themselves contain only public GCal documentation.

## Control and revoke access

Each assistant receives a separate token whose digest is stored in Keychain. Open **Settings → AI Tools** to revoke one connection, or turn off AI Tools to stop all connected assistants. Event creation opens a draft for review; the assistant does not silently save it.
