# Find missing calendars or events

Start with where the event is missing, then check the account, selection, and filters.

These guides cover GCal 4.0.0 for Mac.

## Missing from the main window

1. Check the Google account shown in the main calendar window. It may differ from the accounts connected in GCal Settings.
2. Check the date and view, then select the calendar in Google Calendar’s sidebar. If you applied a Calendar Set, make sure the set includes it.
3. If you use display enhancements such as Hide Past Events, turn the relevant option off temporarily.
4. If it is an iCloud or Outlook calendar, check whether you connected it only to the native agenda. That does not add it to Google Calendar.

An event also missing at calendar.google.com for the same account needs to be checked in Google Calendar or with its calendar owner.

## Missing from the menu bar, Dock, or widgets

1. Open **Settings → Accounts**. Check the connected Google account or enable **Calendars on This Mac** as appropriate.
2. Resolve any missing permission or reconnect message. Signing in to the main window alone is not enough for the native Google agenda.
3. Open **Settings → Calendar** and check that the calendar is selected.
4. Check the agenda’s date range and meeting-only option. For the menu bar and notifications, temporarily turn off an active Focus to test its filter.

## Recently changed events

When you add, edit, or delete an event in GCal’s main Google Calendar window, GCal detects the change and automatically refreshes the affected calendars in your connected agenda. You do not normally need to refresh manually. Allow a little time for the change to appear; widgets also follow macOS’s update schedule.

If a change has not appeared, or you made it on another device or outside GCal, choose **View → Refresh Calendars** and allow time for the result. Repeated refresh requests may be limited.

For a subscribed calendar, the source provider and Google’s subscription schedule add another refresh step. Reconnecting repeatedly will not make a subscribed feed update immediately.

## Still missing?

Contact support with your macOS version, GCal version, calendar provider, and where the event is missing. Describe whether it is visible in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar. Avoid sending private event details or calendar subscription links.
